21 Savage’s ‘American Dream’ Streaming Revenue

It’s a new Thursday and a new song revenue chart. As reported by Hits Daily Double, which tracks streaming revenue week over week, the above chart reflects the streaming period from Jan 12 to 18.

21 Savage’s #1 album, American Dream, generated $601,271 from the top 10 most streamed songs in its first week. The over half a million income came from 129M streams, with “redrum” being the most popular song.

Kanye Shares North West’s Music Video Plans & Tells Lil Durk It’s Time to Drop

North West, also known as the reincarnation of Kanye, has developed a video treatment for her song on Vultures at the young age of 10. Kanye posted a video on IG of North explaining in detail each scene in her storyboard, with the caption, “Talking treatment by your bestie ms ms westie.”

“North inherited the Ye creative gene in full,” one user commented, while another wrote, “Adonis has 24 hours to respond.” The older North becomes, the more her personality closely resembles her father’s, detailing extravagant music video plans that are on par with Kanye’s sky-is-the-limit ideas.

“Okay, so, I’m in my Lamborghini driving over to basketball practice, and I’m driving in the front seat, and just by myself, I go ‘you don’t want no problems,” said North. Because all 10-year-olds imagine themselves driving a Lamborghini, right?

It gets better. She sets the scene; her friends are in Vultures merch, and she’s meeting them at Nobu for dinner. But when she tries to get out of the car, she’s swarmed by paparazzi. She and her friends yell, “Don’t try to test me!” and skrrt out of Nobu. Kanye makes a cameo but isn’t a focal point of the video.

Kanye’s in full rollout mode, and this might have been a preview for a video he’s dropping with North. In the same series of IG stories, he told Lil Durk to reactivate his IG because it’s time to drop. Only two more weeks until fans are disappointed again on Feb 9 or Kanye beats the liar allegations.

Young Thug’s Leaked Phone Call With Mariah The Scientist

A private phone call between Young Thug and his girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist, was leaked to the internet this week. The 28-minute-long phone call was from Christmas Day 2023, and clips from it have gone viral. Drake’s upset, Meek Mill thinks it’s a lawsuit, and Mariah is trending on Twitter. Find out why below.

The full video was posted on YouTube via an account called Phone Calls From Prison. The virality of the clips is less about what they’re saying and more about Mariah’s demeanor toward Thug. Compared to her public persona, she shows a much softer side, openly expressing her love for him.

The clip where she refers to him as “daddy” is what’s got Twitter divided over #ProDaddy or #ConDaddy. Some are roasting her, while others are coming to her defense. Overall, it’s an invasion of privacy for their jail phone calls to be leaked without their consent.

Drake echoed that sentiment in his story, calling out whichever employee abused their power and profited from selling the footage. He also named Judge Glanville guilty of dragging Thug through the mud publicly with the RICO trial and then having employees further embarrass him.

Meek Mill said the leak is a lawsuit waiting to happen. We’ll see if Thug’s lawyer pursues legal action and if an employee at Fulton Country Jail loses their job over the leak.

21 Savage Gets Personal on ‘Club Shay Shay’

21 Savage is Shannon Sharpe’s latest guest on Club Shay Shay. He didn’t unload a clip of social media beef like Katt Williams, but the two-hour conversation is probably the most you’ll ever hear 21 Savage speak. Find the highlights below.

The most hilarious is when he talks about being academically gifted and winning a spelling bee in 5th grade for spelling “superkalifragilistikexpialigetisch.” Metro Boomin took it upon himself to call cap on Savage’s story.

“Salute Uncle Shay Shay on the podcast, but n***as sit on his couch and feel like they can say anything,” Metro says.

The most controversial is his statement that broke parents are better than rich ones. For context, he was talking about his lack of a relationship with his father, who was absent during his childhood, and he wants to be the complete opposite with his three kids. 

“I be feeling like I don’t be doing all the way my job because of my job,” he says in regards to being a parent. He can provide material things for his kids that he didn’t have, but time is his most limited resource, and being a rapper takes him away from his family. In his opinion, broke parents have more time to dedicate to their kids.
