#1. Travis Scott

Previous rank: 1, Highest rank: 1

Travis Scott is in the top spot on this month’s RapTV Power Rankings as he continues to build on the success of his latest commercial release, Utopia. The project held the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for the fourth consecutive week, making it the first rap album to do so since Drake’s Scorpion in 2018.

Building on the hype of Utopia, his Circus Maximus film, and his performance in Rome, Travis unveiled his long-awaited tour titled Circus Maximus. Kicking off in October, La Flame has 39 stops in cities across North America, and tickets sold out within hours of going on sale. Additionally, the Houston superstar appeared as a surprise guest for Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour stop in Vancouver, B.C., replacing 21 Savage, and performed “Meltdown” for the first time.

#2. Quavo

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 2

Quavo, of the former group Migos, takes the #2 spot on this month’s Power Rankings following the release of his sophomore solo album, Rocket Power. After the loss of Takeoff, this album marked a triumphant comeback for Quavo as a solo artist!

Rocket Power consists of 18 tracks with only three features (Takeoff, Young Thug & Future) and sold nearly 34,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, debuting at #18 on the Billboard 200. The former Migos frontman also dropped a music video for his new track “11.11,” which has amassed 1.6 million views on YouTube at the time of writing.

#3 Drake

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 1

Drake rounds out the Top 3 on this August RapTV Power Rankings. The Canadian icon continued his It’s All a Blur tour alongside Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage, which made stops in Philidelphia, Milwaukee, Inglewood, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, & Vancouver. The final tour stop of the month in Vancouver was delayed by a day, but Drake surprised fans by secretly enlisting Travis Scott to perform alongside him.

In addition to his tour success, Drizzy made headlines after the internet ran amok with rumors pertaining to the release of his upcoming album, For All the Dogs. Many fans believed the album would be released on August 25th, the day before International Dog Day, but no official release date has been announced.

#4 Lil Yachty

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 1

Lil Yachty earned his spot on this month’s top 10 following the release of his newest single, “TELSA.” The track was released alongside an eponymous EP consisting of the rapper’s most recent singles, “Slide,” “Solo Steppin Crete Boy,” and “Strike (Holster).”

The song got the Lyrical Lemonade treatment with a music video released on YouTube, amassing 2M views in the first ten days post-release. Since good things come in threes, Yachty added new dates to his upcoming Field Trip Tour set to travel across North America and Europe, starting in late September.

#5 Lil Uzi Vert

Previous rank: 2, Highest rank: 1

Still basking in the success of their latest studio release, Lil Uzi Vert remains on the Power Rankings for the second month in a row, moving down to #5. The Philly-born rap sensation kept fans intrigued as rumors surrounding their upcoming Barter 16 project began to mount.

Although no new release dates have been confirmed, Uzi has been spotted working with producer London On Da Track—who teased via X/Twitter that he had “turned in” the project. What's more, Uzi also expanded the shows for their upcoming Pink Tape Tour by adding seven new dates. The 23-show tour is set to start in October, likely after a new Uzi drop.

#6 Doja Cat

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 6

Due to recent announcements and releases, Doja Cat has earned her spot on this month's list. Her upcoming album Scarlet now has an official release date of September 22, and she's dropped two new singles, "Paint The Town Red" and "Demons," with stunning YouTube visuals. “Paint The Town Red” broke the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the last week of August. As if that wasn't enough, Doja Cat is also gearing up for her upcoming The Scarlet Tour alongside Ice Spice and Doechii, which is set to kick off in October 2023.

#7 Gunna

Previous rank: 4, Highest rank: 4

After earning his highest Power Rankings spot last month (#4), Gunna remains on the list, dropping to #7. Thanks to the continued success of his most recent studio album, A Gift & a Curse, released mid-June 2023 with no features. Notably, the song “Fukumean,” had a phenomenal run, earning as high as #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, while simultaneously going viral on TikTok.

The Atlanta rap act built further on his success this month after dropping visuals for “Rodeo Dr.,” via YouTube. Additionally, Gunna is preparing for his first headlining performance in two years, titled The Gift and The Curse, which will take place in Brooklyn and Los Angeles in September 2023.

#8 Trippie Redd

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 7

Trippie Redd comes in at #8 on this month’s Power Rankings following the release of his latest commercial mixtape, A Love Letter To You 5. The fifth installment in the rapper’s Love Letter To You series contains 19 tracks with eight features and was set to be followed by Trippie’s 24-date Take Me Away tour.

However, the rapper has unfortunately canceled his upcoming tour without citing an official reason. He’s also come under fire as old footage of him dissing Tekashi 6ix9ine, who sold 30,000 units for first week sales, was posted to X/Twitter, after ALLTY5 received sales projections of 32,000 album equivalent units.

#9 EST Gee

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 9

In August, Est Gee was in the news for a number of reasons, which helped him secure a place on the Power Rankings list. He recently released his latest studio album, El Toro 2, with 20 tracks and five collaborations. Additionally, Gee's brief feud with podcaster Bootleg Kev went viral after he walked out of an interview with the latter, citing irrelevant questions as the reason.

#10 Polo G

Previous rank: N/A, Highest rank: 10

Polo G has secured the final spot in this month's top 10 list! He recently announced the release date for his upcoming album Hood Poet and dropped the project's lead single, "Barely Holding On."

However, Polo G faced legal trouble when he was arrested in California in late August on charges of kidnapping, robbery, and assault—following a police raid at his home. Polo G's brother, Trench Baby, was also arrested in connection with the charges. After their arrests, Polo G and his brother were released on $100,000 bail.
