Billboard Hot 100

As reported by Billboard for the week of April 6.

The above chart shows Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking for this week. The Hot 100 ranks songs based on streaming activity, radio airplay audience impressions, and sales data—all measured by Luminate.

Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You recorded the largest debut for any album this year and the biggest ever for a trap album. Debuting at #1 with 251K equivalent album units, the five songs above are the most Top 10 hits for a trap album ever.

The #1 hit “Like That” is Gold-certified, selling over 500K units in under eight days—the fastest a song has reached this milestone in 2024.

Don’t Trust @MetroBoomin—His Accounts Were Hacked

It all started with a tweet. “I seen a lot of n—as been scared to post the album too,” Metro Boomin said on X (formerly Twitter). Conclusions about 21 Savage were jumped to, who’s been quiet since We Don’t Trust You dropped and seemed to take a Switzerland approach to the ongoing rap civil war.

Then Metro seemingly commented on an IG post highlighting the #1 stats of We Don’t Trust You to oppose the narrative that Kendrick Lamar’s diss on “Like That” and the beef with Drake boosted sales.

However, Metro took to X yesterday to announce that his phone number and social media were hacked the day the album dropped. “And all those corny ass tweets. All my day 1s know that’s nowhere in my character,” he said

The alleged hackers began calling his phone non-stop from various 416 numbers, a known area code for Toronto. Cue the Drake jokes.

Some fans didn’t believe he was hacked because most of his activity on socials has been normal (aside from the Savage and Drake snub). Metro clarified that he’s been posting from his other phone and thought they only hacked his iCloud until he saw the tweets and comments that weren’t his.

Pulling out receipts, Metro posted screenshots of the hacker's iMessage convos with his sales associate at Balenciaga. The hacker tried ordering $23K worth of clothes to an address in Houston but couldn’t provide the CVV number for Metro’s card, so the order didn’t go through.

Savage Mode fans can breathe easy, Metro confirmed there’s no bad blood with 21 Savage, and they’re on good terms. We may never get another What a Time to be Alive, but all is good in Atlanta.

Who Is the Girl in PARTYNEXTDOOR’s Freaky ‘P4’ Album Cover?

Announcing the 4th album in his self-titled series, Partynextdoor revealed the cover art and it’s not something you want to repost on your story. “I’m legally blind,” commented producer BYNX. ”Give us a warning yo old freaky ahh,” and “Is this an album or a s*x tape,” commented other users on the explicit nature of the image.

Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory said it best, “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative. Gets the people going.” Controversy starts conversation and creating anything that can be re-contextualized in the wit of the comments section is guaranteed to have a wider reach.

The comments section examining ‘P4’

This isn’t Partynextdoor, it’s partybackdoor—one of many possible spinoffs from the cover. Arriving April 26th, P4 will be the first project from the OVO artist in four years.

If you’ve recovered from the initial shock of the cover art, you may be wondering whose back is that? Find out below.

Meet MaamiNextDoor

The model and influencer goes by the name @maaminextdoor on socials. Before you contest her identity because of the prominent spine tattoo on her back (not featured on the cover art), it’s the work of makeup artist @doitlikeamora.

In the credits posted on socials, Amora is tagged for a tattoo cover up and transfer—placing the fake “4” tattoo paying homage to the album’s title P4

Do a quick scroll through Maaminextdoor’s socials and you’ll find that she was also featured in the video promo for “Resentment,” one of the album’s singles released in March.

The last easter egg in this backtrack (pun intended) is footage of her at Rolling Loud LA, holding the sign “Maaminextdoor 4 Partynextdoor” in the front row during Party’s performance.

Lil Yachty Concrete Launches His Label Just in Time for New Music

Throughout the last year, Lil Yachty’s been soft-launching his curatorial skills with a group of four new artists, and it’s finally time for the Concrete launch. Taking on the role of label executive, Yachty formally announced Concrete Rekordz, a joint venture with Quality Control/Hype, on March 28.

Also known as Concrete Boys, the rap group label comprises Yachty, Karrahbooo, Draft Day, DC2TRILL, and Camo! First introduced during Yachty’s Field Trip tour last year, they’ve already gained notoriety from their song “Mo Jams” and On The Radar cypher.

‘It’s Us Volume 1’ album arrives April 5

Following in the footsteps of major artist-led labels like J. Cole’s Dreamville and Travis Scott’s JACKBOYS, Yachty’s showcasing his team with a debut compilation album. The newly-released “Family Business,” picks up where “Mo Jams” left off.

Concrete Boys has the cohesiveness of Playboi Carti’s Opium label. Instead of punk-influenced rockstars, every Concrete artist has an effortless idgaf vibe that extends to their bars as much as their clothes. The synergy is evident in their music videos, like apples that don’t fall far from the Yachty tree.

Karrahbooo and Draft Day were already on our list of 7 next-up rappers in 2024 and with It’s Us Vol. 1 arriving this Friday, April 5, you can expect the group to become a concrete fixture on your timeline.
