According to the Miami Herald, Kodak Black was arrested by Miami-Dade police and federal agents on federal and state weapons charges. He was scheduled to perform at the Rolling Loud show in Miami on Saturday, May 11, 2019, but his arrest caused him to miss the gig. Authorities reportedly arrested him at or near the Hard Rock Stadium before he could hit the stage.
Kodak Black’s popularity has continued to rise despite his arrests and confrontations with established artists for saying some questionable things about Nipsey Hussle’s widow, Lauren London. No stranger to run-ins with the law, Kodak missed a few tour dates earlier this year due to an arrest on weapons and other charges at the Canada/ United States border. Recently, he unexpectedly offered to pay for the funeral of Kendrick Castillo, the victim of the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting in Colorado. His status as a high profile rapper hasn’t suffered all that much considering all the legal drama.
